A venue that’s getting it all right for your great night out!

Nestled in the heart of our city, the local event bar, known as Angārs, offers an enchanting escape from the tourist traps and the ordinary. A recent, but not first visit to this establishment left me thoroughly impressed and eager to share my experience of this multi purpose event venue.

Upon entering Angārs, the atmosphere immediately caught my attention, as did the central bar and overall layout. Despite it being early hours and not the time for the  mass arrival of party goers, the warmly lit space exuded an aura of grown up sophistication, with carefully placed mood lighting and tasteful decor that struck a perfect balance between modern chic and cozy intimacy. The venue’s layout has been well-thought-out, with ample seating options, from your usual comfy chairs to plush couches for a relaxed evening, it’s quite literally a comfortable warehouse.

Food & Drink

Fresh and tasting as good as it looks!

The impressive central bar with its extensive selection of beers and wines, has whatever you desire, Angārs undoubtedly caters to a diverse palate. A great deal of care has been put into their selections.

Delicious food can be ordered and is prepared in what looked to be a very busy kitchen, it’s kinda open plan so you get to see everyone working on your order as you wait. It’s good ole pub food, or as they call it Street Food, it comes in good portions and tastes great!

Folk music, dance Music, classes and more!

The recent event I attended at Angārs was a house music night with DJs, PUPA &  Z:LE, something new for the venue. Having had a dj spot there myself recently, I thought it only right to go check out other performers, and it was nothing short of superb!. The sound system is, I must admit basic, but the volume good, the stage and dance-floor inviting and the sounds from the DJs great. The elevated stage, though modest in size, creates a strong connection between the performers and the audience. As a performer, the elevation gives you a great view of the venue and your party people.

The bar’s commitment to hosting such events showcases its dedication to providing a great night out in Riga, away from the cool to be cool types that seem to infest other venues in the city. Yes people dress to impress, with lots of cool, beautiful people but there are no “professional” avant-garde types trying to be hip to the sounds of the ice making machines.

Angārs staff are attentive and knowledgeable, the bartenders and servers exuded a genuine passion for their craft, readily engaging in conversations about the menu, offering recommendations based on personal preferences, and ensuring that every patron felt welcome. Their professionalism added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening, making it clear that this was a place where hospitality was paramount.

Pricing

Top-notch service makes the prices more than reasonable!

In terms of pricing, Angārs positions itself as a mid-range establishment. While some drinks might lean toward the higher end, the quality of the experience justifies the cost. Furthermore, the value offered through the curated events, comfortable ambiance, and top-notch service makes the prices more than reasonable.

Angārs stands out as an exceptional event bar that effortlessly blends artistry, ambiance, and hospitality. Whether you’re seeking an intimate evening with friends, a romantic date night, or a place to unwind with a perfectly crafted cocktail, this local gem delivers on all fronts. My visit left me thoroughly impressed once again, and I’m eager to return for more evenings filled with captivating moments and vibrant vibes, despite the 100 kilometre drive.
