The French superstar has reclaimed the No. 1 spot, becoming the first DJ to win the prestigious DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2026 public vote six times.

There aren’t many milestones left for David Guetta to chase, but the French DJ has just found another one. Guetta has been voted No. 1 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2026, taking the title for a record sixth time and moving clear of five-time winners Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren.

Guetta first topped the poll in 2011. His latest victory comes 15 years later, following previous No. 1 finishes in 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2025. No other artist has now matched his six victories.

And while Guetta’s position at the top will come as little surprise to anyone who has followed his career, the longevity behind the achievement is remarkable. More than four decades into his career, he continues to move between huge pop records, club-focused projects, festival stages and some of the world’s biggest electronic music events.

Still moving between the club and the mainstream

Guetta’s 2026 has been another busy year.

He reunited with Afrojack and Sia on ‘Awake Tonight’, continued developing the Future Rave sound with MORTEN and launched the Men Machine project with Marten Hørger. He also joined forces with ARTBAT for a remix of Gotye and Kimbra’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’.

His reach has extended well beyond dance music, too. Guetta joined Andrea Bocelli, Megan Thee Stallion and EJAE on the official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, ‘DNA (More Than A Game)’.

That ability to operate in several worlds at once has become one of the defining features of Guetta’s career. He can make records aimed squarely at the biggest pop audience on the planet, then turn around and spend an Ibiza season pushing a more club-oriented sound.

“The worst thing that can happen to a producer is to think you know it all.”

His own approach to collaboration is partly driven by a refusal to become too comfortable. That attitude has kept Guetta working with artists from different generations and across a wide range of styles.

David Guetta Galactic Circus

Ibiza remains central to the Guetta operation

Guetta’s two Ibiza residencies have continued to play a major role in his 2026 schedule.

His Galactic Circus residency at [UNVRS] has entered its second year, while F* ME I’M FAMOUS!** continues at Ushuaïa Ibiza.

This year’s Galactic Circus season has also produced some unexpected moments, including Guetta’s first-ever back-to-back set with Carl Cox and the debut of ‘Caught Up’, his forthcoming collaboration with Marlon Hoffstadt.

Guetta has also spoken about the significance of selling tickets in an era increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence.

“Everything can be faked, but the one thing you cannot fake is selling tickets.”

For an artist whose career has been built around connecting with enormous live audiences, it’s a telling point.

More than 240,000 tickets sold in Paris

The scale of Guetta’s live operation has continued to grow.

In 2026, he played three sold-out shows at Paris’ Stade de France, with guest appearances from artists including Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Black Coffee, Jennifer Lopez, Akon, Bebe Rexha and Black Eyed Peas.

The three performances shifted more than 240,000 tickets.

His Monolith show has subsequently travelled to major venues and festivals including Red Rocks and Coachella, alongside arena and stadium performances across Europe.

The next major step comes in 2027, when Guetta is scheduled to bring the production to London’s O2 as the venue marks its 20th anniversary.

Guetta beats Garrix as Anyma storms into the top three

The wider 2026 Top 100 DJs results also point to some significant movement across electronic music.

Martin Garrix remains at No. 2, while Anyma has jumped seven places to No. 3. Brazilian DJ and producer Alok sits at No. 4, followed by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike at No. 5.

Charlotte de Witte has climbed to No. 6 and retains her position as the World’s No. 1 Techno DJ, while Armin van Buuren drops two places to No. 7 but remains the World’s No. 1 Trance DJ.

FISHER holds No. 9 and continues as the World’s No. 1 House DJ.

Further down the rankings, house and techno continue to make their presence felt. Fred again.. has climbed 17 places to No. 16, while John Summit, Mau P and Chris STASSY share the Highest Climber award after each rising 22 positions. The Martinez Brothers, Michael Bibi, Solomun, Mochakk and Lilly Palmer are among the other house and techno names making significant gains.

A changing electronic music landscape

The 2026 results are interesting beyond Guetta’s record.

DJ Mag’s analysis points to another shift in what the public is voting for. After house dominated the early years of the poll, progressive house took over in the late 1990s, trance became particularly dominant during the 2000s and EDM ruled much of the 2010s.

Guetta’s victory sits at the centre of that changing landscape. His ability to remain relevant while moving between commercial dance music and the club environment is a major part of what makes his six Top 100 DJs victories possible.

Whether you follow the poll closely or view it simply as a snapshot of global popularity, one thing is difficult to argue with: David Guetta’s ability to keep enormous audiences interested after more than 40 years in the game is extraordinary.

And now he has a record to prove it.
