Carl Cox has announced that he will no longer be performing at this year’s Movement Festival in Detroit, postponing his appearance until 2026 due to scheduling conflicts. The UK techno icon shared the news via Instagram, reassuring fans that he remains committed to bringing his full live show to Movement next year instead.
In Cox’s absence, legendary DJ and producer Jeff Mills has been confirmed as the replacement headliner for Saturday, 24th May. Mills, a key figure in Detroit’s techno history, expressed his excitement about stepping in, emphasizing the city’s deep-rooted musical culture. He described Detroit as a place where “the power of music is truly understood” and where generations have continued to pass down their love for the art form.
Movement Festival had previously revealed a stellar lineup featuring artists such as Charlotte de Witte, John Summit, HAAi, and Underground Resistance co-founder Mike Banks. With Mills now stepping in, the festival is set to maintain its reputation as a must-attend event for electronic music fans.
