Leftfield, one of the most influential names in UK dance music, is celebrating 35 years of groundbreaking tracks and unforgettable performances with four special shows in 2025.
Founded in 1988 by Paul Daley and Neil Barnes, Leftfield has left an indelible mark on electronic music. Now led solely by Barnes, the project returns to two iconic venues that hold a special place in its history.
London’s O2 Academy Brixton will host two nights of Leftfield on 30th and 31st May 2025, under the banner Leftism & Beyond. These dates mark a return to the site of their legendary 1996 gig, one of the most memorable moments in their career.
The celebration continues at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 6th and 7th June 2025, bringing the anniversary tour to Scotland.
Reflecting on the milestone, Barnes said:
“It will be 35 years since I released the first Leftfield track, ‘Not Forgotten’, and 30 years of ‘Leftism’. It feels like the perfect time to celebrate. Brixton Academy and Glasgow Barrowlands are the only places that felt right for us to blow the roofs off… Let’s make it unforgettable.”
Leftfield’s impact continues to resonate in the dance music world. Their 2022 album, This Is What We Do, was celebrated with the release of the remix EP Full Way Round last month. In September, Leftfield co-headlined with Orbital at Margate’s Dreamland.
Beyond music, Barnes has contributed to charitable causes, donating 500 records from his personal collection for auction last Christmas. His inspiring journey includes a triumphant return to music following a battle with cancer, as shared in a 2023 interview.
Tickets for the anniversary gigs are on sale now. Don’t miss your chance to experience Leftfield live.
