Forum Birmingham, a beloved hotspot for nightlife enthusiasts, is reopening after a temporary closure. This follows a license review by Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Police. The venue announced the good news on Wednesday, 27th November, via its social media channels.
Forum Birmingham shared its excitement about the reopening, saying:
*”Following the conclusion of the license review process with Birmingham City Council, we’re pleased to return to normal operations with immediate effect. The welfare of everyone attending Forum Birmingham is at the centre of everything we do, and we appreciate the constructive engagement of West Midlands Police and the licensing authority to build on the range of measures we employ, as appropriate to each event.
We ask that all our patrons join us in minimising the risk of harm from drugs by respecting our policies and enjoying themselves safely.”*
This announcement comes after the venue’s license was suspended last month. The closure followed a tragic incident during a Halloween 360 party on 25th October. A 22-year-old guest fell ill and later died in hospital. The police investigation suggests the death was drug-related.
Forum Birmingham’s reopening follows a rigorous licensing review. The council and police have approved the venue’s operations under strict new conditions aimed at bolstering safety and minimising risks. These include:
Before the full reopening, the venue hosted four low-risk events in November, adhering to strict conditions, including mandatory drug awareness training for staff.

The first events marking its full reopening include Piano Republik and Amapiano Lituation’s debut indoor festival. Other major names set to grace the venue in the coming weeks include Sub Focus, Serum, and Dillinja, promising an unmissable season for fans of electronic and drum & bass music.
This revival reaffirms Forum Birmingham’s commitment to providing world-class nightlife experiences while prioritising the safety and well-being of its patrons. With new measures in place and a fresh slate of events, the venue is poised to remain a vital part of the UK’s electronic music scene.
