As I peruse various music platforms in search of enjoyable tracks to review, I often encounter discussions surrounding the tech house genre. While some may express reservations about it, I prefer to avoid categorising tracks in such definitive terms. Instead, I opt for a more nuanced approach, simply referring to them as “techy grooves” when they possess certain characteristics.
During one of my recent browsing sessions, I stumbled upon a track that sparked some contemplation. The track in question is “Sun in the Sky,” available on Traxsource. Now, here’s where the discussion takes a turn. Upon listening, it became evident to me that this track leans more towards the realm of funky house than what one might traditionally classify as tech house.
This observation raises an interesting point about the essence of Tech House. Shouldn’t it exude a distinct edge, setting it apart more definitively from other sub-genres of house music? While I harbour no ill will towards the artist, as I genuinely appreciate the track, and that classic vocal but I can’t help but feel that it finds its natural home within a funky house set.
In conclusion, “Sun in the Sky” may not fit neatly into the Tech House box, but that doesn’t diminish its value or appeal. Rather, it serves as a testament to the fluidity and diversity of house music, offering listeners a rich tapestry of sounds to explore and enjoy.
