Mark Pemberton

Always mixing up the genres in his sets.

A Housemasters presenter since 2016, Mark grew up listening to a wide range of music, influenced by his mum and dads Motown record collection and his elder brothers Northern Soul collection Mark developed a love for all genres. Like many in the early to mid-80s Mark found the new sounds of electro and hip hop.

Mark was too young at 14 to take part in the 1988 summer of love and the euphoria surrounding the birth of ‘Acid House’, that said he was fully aware it was happening. Listening to pirate radio in the late 80’s and early 90’s and witnessing the sounds of the Chicago sounds, Mark was totally absorbed in the music.

At 17 in 1991 Mark went to his first ‘Rave’ night at a local club and never looked back, Mark bought his first turntables that year and the rest is history.

Mark has held many residences up and down the country and has played alongside some of the biggest names in the scene and has played for some of the biggest brands including Quadrant Park reunions, Shelleys reunions and Fantazia.

Marks influences and favourite DJs are :

DJ Nipper, DJ Ratty, Top Buzz, Doc Scott and Frank De Wulf

A few words:

‘I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some of the best DJs in the scene, hard work, dedication and above all the right attitude are the key. The best advice I ever received was to keep grounded, stay humble and be nice to everyone. I don’t think you can go wrong with that ethos. The introduction of the internet and social media has dramatically changed how DJs network and share their work, people often say it’s a lot easier now to get bookings as you can just spam your way onto a line up. I don’t necessarily agree, I think its harder than ever to stand out. Keep pushing on’
