Spotlight on Sweet L.A

As we prepare for the arrival of Sweet L.A to Housemasters radio and welcome SistaVixen to the editorial team on Housemasters

Sweet L.A

When I come across something I like, I stick to it like glue and explore it to the max, so let me introduce you to my first HMR Article and my first Spotlight On…..Sweet LA!

You can’t go wrong with a superb mix of Piano and Vocals in my book and since their humble days back in 1989  Gary Brookes, Paul Brown and Shawn Keys have blazed a trail with their catchy mixes of piano riffs and vocal grooves. They quickly established themselves in the mainstream clubbing venues of London and the South Coast creating their own “FNUK” and “Sugar” branded nights they filled nightclubs on a weekly basis and in 2009/2010 they won worldwide recognition as the most downloaded artists on the Mix DJ Website.

A new name in 2012 saw them become Sweet LA and joining forces with Shawn Keys using their own knowledge of Old Skool beats, vocal and piano fusion they decided to tap into the world of unknown talent and brings the likes of Beckii Power and Leo Ihenacho to national and International acclaim.

Their collaborations with the likes of Jolene, Noel De Costa and Habbo Foxx have won them critical acclaim the world over and their ability to turn out hit listing track after track has seen them be signed to major label Whore House and other labels such as Play N Tonic, Concrete, Hedonistic, King Street, Jango and Mjuzieek.

This year alone they have released 7 tracks across platforms such at Soundcloud, Beatport and Traxsource notching up thousands of downloads and listens between them all.

They are just as comfy in front of a mic as they are with a mixing desk receiving listeners in their thousands on their weekly Radio Show Brookes & Brown. Clearly they are a trio not to be missed and if they bring as much energy, vibes, kicks, rhythms, drops and beats to the HMR audience as they put into track after track of excellence then they are well worth a listen.
