Mike Solus caught up with Dance Music and House Music pioneer DJ Spen for a chat, in-between his DJ and production commitments.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, Sean Spencer aka DJ Spen is one of the most sought-after DJ, producers in the world.
Mike and Spen talk about Hip Hop, Numarx and the original ‘Girl You Know It’s True’ record, Milli Vanilli and the global sensation it became and how lightning never strikes twice. They talk about radio, Spen’s love for it and what it is, to be a radio DJ. Spen’s tells us more on his legendary ‘Saturday Night Dance Party’ on 95.9 FM. Throughout the 1990s in America, his radio show was listened to by more people tuning in to listen to the local Baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, at the same he was on the air waves!
They talk about Disco, Gospel, Basement Boys and the ‘Baltimore Sound’ of dance music and how they’re remix of ‘Do It Good’ changed his musical direction.
