Respected for his enduring role in the Pittsburgh/Cleveland rave scene, Brad Thomas, aka Dj Elysium has, in the past twenty two years, garnered a reputation as one of the finest house DJs in the tri-state area. It wasn’t long into Brad’s DJing career, that promoters, both national and local, were interested in placing Brad along sides the likes of acts like; Carl Cox, Bad Boy Bill, and Charles Feelgood.
Over the years, Brad’s sound evolved to include many forms of house including: funky, disco, speed garage, 2-step, vocal, jazzy, hard UK, and booty. His musical influences include Johnny Fiasco, Feelgood, Mark Farina, Eric Morillo, MJ Cole, and DJ Sneak.
After moving to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2002, Thomas shifted his musical focus to production. He with his production partner DJ 7up have collaborated on numerous releases for Jes One’s Groove Shop records of Chicago, as well as projects with Patrick Norman of Rusted Root. He also released a remix on Johnny Fiasco’s label Klassik Fiasco under the alias Thomas Watts.
Brad has maintain a busy schedule of performing including: multiple long-term club residencies, special events and numerous raves, but in recent years he has chosen to be more selective and take the occasional show and putting out mixes online.
