Rallying for Alfredo: Supporting a Balearic Legend’s Medical Care

A fundraising campaign has been initiated via GoFundMe to aid in financing medical care for Balearic trailblazer and Ibiza stalwart DJ Alfredo.

The 71-year-old, known by his real name Alfredo Fiorito, underwent a stroke in 2021 and has been under care in a retirement facility since then, where he continues to receive necessary medical attention.

The initiative was set in motion by the individual behind the Secret DJ persona, with the aim of assisting Alfredo and his son, Jaime Fiorito, in addressing ongoing retirement and medical expenses.

“Many of you have already contributed, but private healthcare remains an ongoing financial commitment,” remarked Secret DJ in a message on GoFundMe. “Alfredo is being well cared for, but in order to sustain this, we need the support of his friends. Some funds will enhance Alfredo’s quality of life, while others will facilitate outings for fresh air.”

The current objective of the fundraiser is £30,000, falling short by just under £4,000 at present. Secret DJ mentions that a year of care amounts to approximately £12,000, hence, any surplus funds raised will be allocated towards future care expenses.

Previously, Alfredo had been compelled to launch a fundraising campaign in 2021 following his stroke, which rendered him financially strained due to his inability to work, especially amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, a series of T-shirts were made available for sale during that time to assist in covering his living expenses.
